FPSO: As a member of the Terra Nova Alliance, GJ Cahill, provided engineering, procurement, manufacturing, hookup, commissioning, installation and start-up support for the electrical, instrumentation and control systems for the Terra Nova Floating, Production, Storage and Off-loading (FPSO) vessel. In addition, the Company provided supervisory and technical staff support to the hook-up and commissioning teams while the FPSO was on location offshore the island of Newfoundland.
Turret Equipment Room: In addition, GJ Cahill was contracted by FMC-SOFEC for the fabrication, assembly and outfitting of the Terra Nova FPSO upper turret equipment room (TER). The TER was fabricated and outfitted in St. John’s, NL. The TER is a key component of the FPSO and serves as one of the main interfaces between the turret and the FPSO. It is the junction point for all electrical/instrumentation cables and the location of sophisticated logic control devices for the FPSO disconnection system.
