The City of St. John's, the City of Mount Pearl and the Town of Paradise have a combined population of 130,000 people. It is estimated that approximately 120 million litres of raw sewage and storm water enters the Harbour daily through the City's sewer infrastructure. This project consisted of the construction of the primary treatment plant, an expansion of the pumping station, construction of the harbour interceptor sewer and additions to the existing diffused outfall. The new facility will be a Primary Treatment Facility with the potential for expansion to Secondary / Enhanced Chemical Treatment as dictated by future Harbour water quality results.
GJ Cahill was contracted to complete the process mechanical, electrical, building mechanical, HVAC, instrumentation, controls and commissioning for this project.
