Stora Enso's Port Hawkesbury Mill produces 190 000-tonnes of newsprint and 360 000-tonnes of super calendared paper for the catalogue and magazine paper markets primarily within North America. GJ Cahill has been servicing the mill since 1997.
GJ Cahill's initial involvement with the mill was in the construction of the new super calendared Paper Machine #2. GJ Cahill's scope of work on the project involved the installation of the 13.8 KV and 4.16 KV switchgear and main plant substation while installing the electrical and instrumentation equipment, motor control centers, variable speed drives in the paper machine hall and the thermo-mechanical pulping area.
